147 Beverley Street – One time home of William Lyon Mackenzie King

The former Prime Minister lived here with his parents in the mid-1890s, when he was just a young fella studying at the University of Toronto.

Prior to that noteworthy resident, 147 Beverley belonged to a gentleman named George A. Hess who’d made his fortune with the Hess Bros. furniture manufacturers. He must’ve done alright because he also owned a grand summer home at 193 Dunn Ave in Parkdale.
